 Arizona Butterfly Association led by our president, Ron Rutowski, we =
will review the results of the three butterfly counts that were done i=
n Central Arizona in 2024. The results will be compared to previous ye=
ars and we will explore the causes of year-to-year changes in the numb=
er of species and individuals recorded.    =0D=0A  =0D=0AThere will be=
 plenty of time for questions. You may even bring some identification =
challenges on a memory stick if you'd like. This will provide an oppor=
tunity for us to learn from each other, while taste testing Laura's ho=

rt garden with lots of butterfly host- and nectar plants.=0D=0AFall an=
d spring are the best times to visit this city garden. Host plants inc=
lude milkweed for Queen and Monarch caterpillars, goldeneye (Viguiera)=
 for California Patch caterpillars. Year-round the tiny Marine Blues h=
ang around the Baja fairy duster. In the late summer and fall, the Des=
ert Senna can be covered with Cloudless Sulphur and Sleepy Orange cate=
rpillars. =0D=0A=0D=0AWhen the Willow acacia trees bloom in the fall, =
Snouts, Queens, and other butterflies flutter all around.  Lantana pro=
vides nectar for many species. Giant Swallowtails and Pipevine Swallow=
tails have been seen in the garden as well. =0D=0A=0D=0A
